Proposed Project: Proposes the replacement of the existing 137' long timber bridge with a new 140' long cored slab concrete bridge and associated infrastructure within the existing right -of -way. Please indicate below your agency's position or viewpoint on the proposed project and return this form by February 15, 2015. When appropriate, in -depth comments with supporting data is requested. REPLY: This agency has no objection to the project as proposed. This agency has no comment on the proposed project. This agency approves of the project only if the recommended changes are incorporated. See attached. This agency objects to the project for reasons described in the attached comments. We have reviewed the information included in the package received from the Division of Coastal Management. Our comments are provided in accordance with provisions of the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act (48 Stat. 401, as amended; 16 U.S.C. 661 et. seq.) and the Coastal Area Management Act (G.S. 113A -100 through 113A -128). We do not object to the issuance of the CAMA permit for this project provided that the following conditions are included in the CAMA Permit: 1. All riprap placed in -water should be free of pollutants and soil. 2. NCDOT should adhere to the in water work moratorium of February 15 to June 30. NCDOT is expected to use Best Management Practices for the protection of Surface Waters and Sedimentation and Erosion Control measures sufficient to protect the aquatic resources.
