The press release shall be issued within 24 hours after the owner or operator has determined that the discharge has reached surface waters of the State. In the event of a discharge of 15,000 gallons or more of untre ated wastewater to the surface waters of the State, publish a notice of the discharge in a newspaper having general circulation in the county in which the discharge occurs and in each county downstream from the point of discharge that is significantly affe cted by the discharge. The Regional Office shall determine which counties are significantly affected by the discharge and shall approve the form and content of the notice and the newspapers in which the notice is published. DWR staff will review the justification claim and determine if enforcement action is appropriate. Aqua Utility Technician Ashley Klinger monitors this station Certification Number: n/a Date visited: January 12, 2023 Time visited: 1:44pm How was the SSO remediated (i./e. Stopped and cleaned up)? Aqua contracted with Highland Environmental and Vaughn Utilities to address pipe break and the sanitary sewer overflow. Once the repair was completed, the ground surface was limed. Stream mitigation included the following; - * Straw dams were set up at several stations along the stream * Clean water was used to flush the solids on the bottom of the stream * Pumping the impacted water with suspended solids or solids from the bottom through dewatering bags with a charcoal layer * Discharge of the water from the dewatering bags into the wooded areas around the stream * Water quality parameters (pH, DO, conductivity, temperature) are being monitored at several stations along the stream (upstream, midstream, downstream).
