Thanks, David From: King, Art C Sent: Friday, February 06, 2015 8:58 AM To: Wainwright, David Cc: Hair, Sarah E SAW (Sarah.E.Hair(a)usace.army.mil) Subject: Bridge 416 Randolph County David, Attached are the plans for the Bridge 416 project in Randolph County. This is the project that we visited several months ago where we are going to replace the small bridge on SR-1911 (Ashland Rd.) in Trinity, with a box culvert. We had determined that replacing the bridge with another bridge was impractical due to the proximity of the neighboring houses and the location of an adjacent sewer line. The project is in the Randleman Buffer. As depicted in the plans,we are proposing to shift the alignment of the culvert to the south of the current bridge alignment,to obtain a better alignment with the stream channel. The new alignment will require excavation inside zone 1 of the buffer areas on all four quadrants of the project, and the placement of permanent armoring. We will be applying for a NWP#14 from the Corps. I need a clarification of the current buffer rules, and to confirm that (if)we need to obtain a variance; and if so,which type.
