Subject: Notice of Violation from the Compliance Inspection September 15, 2021
by Mr. Ori Tuvia for Belmont Textile Machinery Company's WWTP, NPDES
Permit No. NC0023540, Gaston County
Mr. Basinger,
A meeting with Mr. Tuvia, Mr. Cote and myself was held after the inspection to
discuss the results of the inspection and the best route forward for the companies
involved. The plant is approximately 50 years old and has been repaired many
times.
It is our intentions for the two companies involved to pursue connecting to the
City of Mount Holly's sewage system. Both companies are currently supplied by
Mount Holly's water system.
We met with Kurt Wright, owner of SDG Engineering from Bostic, NC last week
about this project that should just require a pumping station and connecting to
the city's sewage system.
Kurt works with Maurice Walsh of LaBella Associates in Gastonia on projects in
this area. We hope to meet with Maurice next week.
Mr. Cote informed me of the following items that had been addressed since Mr.
Tuvia's inspection of the facility:
1) The wasting problem with the bar screen has been corrected because the
pump used had failed and has been replaced which should also help with the
solids/mixing problem in the aeration basin.
2) The second blower had a bad contractor. It has been repaired and both are
now working satisfactorily now.
