(252) 589-1099 September 13, 2022 Mr. Chris Smith Water Quality Regional Operations Section Raleigh Regional Office Division of Water Resources, NC DEQ 3800 Barrett Drive Raleigh, NC 27609 Dear Mr. Smith, As a follow up to our conversation, below are the written responses to the Notices of Violation and Intent to Access Civil Penalty that were sent via Certified Mail with letter dated August 31, 2022. Notice of Violation and Intent to Access Civil Penalty tracking number: NOV-2022-PC-0466. During the month of January, the Total chlorine was missing due to not being recorded throughout the month, but since then we've been recording it as its being used. During the month of February, the Chloride, Flow, and Total Dissolved Solids were missing due to an overlook error, but we've since started using new form and hopefully this will change the mistake. During the month of March, the Flow exceeded the permit limit. The Plant had a lot of inflow due to weather, but since then we've got a hold on this and we're maintaining it to the permit status. During the month of April, the Flow was missing from the new form. We had the Flow listed on the old form but failed to transfer it over when submitting the new form. During the month of July, the Town didn't spray so that is why a NDAR-1 report was not sent in for that month. When the Town does spray, we will send a report in supporting the information provided.
