Compliance Action Plan for Copper (CU).
The Town of Weaverville takes all compliance issues very seriously with the
upmost of importance. The town intends to do the following in 2023.
• The town has analyzed all data dating back to January 2015 to try to see
any possible trends with copper testing results. What we can best
determine is that the town has only had two occurrences where the results
submitted to the town from a third -party laboratory were readable results
above the minimum testable limit. Once in July of 2017 with that level
being 11ug/I and then once in August of 2021 and that level was 4ug/I. In
finding this, it is very difficult to track what could be the cause with it being
OT F-1 i ,k oni'i.
• In 2022 the town collected two effluent copper samples a month. All those
test results came back <0.001. Starting in January 2023 we will be collecting
two Effluent samples and Raw Water samples a month on the same days as
our effluent samples are collected. Hopefully this will tell us if it is coming
from our source water.
• Weaverville has analyzed all materials that lead to our waste stream that
could possibly contribute to higher copper concentrations. We have not
found anything that may cause this problem.
In closing I would like to say the Town hopes to determine any possible causes
of copper concentration and take affirmative action to correct any issues.
