Dear Mr. Tankard:
Please find enclosed one (1) copy of the construction plans for Greenville Utilities Commission's
proposed 6-inch natural gas main extension crossing an unnamed tributary to Swift Creek, a blue -line
stream subject to the Neuse River Basin Riparian Buffer rules. For reference, I have also enclosed a
portion of the USGS Ayden quadrangle map showing the proposed crossing and the USDA Pitt County
map 62.
This utility crossing appears to be exempt under 15A NCAC 02B .0714 (11) as it is perpendicular to the
stream, impacts less than 50 linear feet of riparian buffer, and will have a maintenance corridor less than
10 linear feet in width.
Please review this project and provide written authorization for Greenville Utilities Commission to
proceed with construction.
