Hi Mitchell,
As per Mike Williams of Town of Lake Lure, the lake will begin to be lowered on 1/1/2023 and is anticipated that the lake
will begin refilling on 3/31/2023. As of now, the lake is still right at full pond level.
Thanks,
Emma

Hi Mitchell,
Please see attached Photos. The owner is ready to start construction as soon as plans are approved, and permits has
been issued. All work for the seawall and riprap will be conducted while the lake is down.
Thanks,
Emma

Thank you for the update. I performed a preliminary review of the documents you provided in your prior email. Could
you provide a photo of the existing shoreline?
Also, will this work be conducted when the lake is down? As the project involves concrete, such work must be conducted
in the dry and all concrete must be fully cured prior to contact with surface waters.
Lastly, what protective measure will be used in the event the project is not completed prior to the return of lake levels?
Thank you,
Mitchell Anderson

Hello Ms. Barden,
There is not an express review option for such application. If your project us eligible for coverage under Regional
General Permit 30 and is also required to secure written confirmation of coverage under Water Quality Certification No.
4502, please submit shoreline stabilization applications using the Electronic Shoreline Stabilization Form. This link is also
provided below. If your project is not eligible for coverage under WQC No. 4502, please submit a Pre‐Construction
Notification form.
Please note, the Division has a statutory review time of 60 days from receipt of fee payment. If the application is
incomplete, you will receive an additional information request. The statutory review time resets once additional
information is received.
However, based on current workloads and available staffing, the estimated review time is 4‐5 weeks from fee receipt.
Please see the Division's FAQ page regarding the application processes and review times.

Hi Mitchell,
Good afternoon. Is there a express review option for the Shoreline Stabilization. The owner would like to do the
construction while the waters of Lake Lure is down.
Many Thanks,
Emma

Hi Mitchell/Brandee,
Please see attached copy of the proposed Shoreline Stabilization (Seawall & Retaining Wall) for 305 Holmes Road in Lake
Lure. Requesting for your review/approval. The proposed seawall below lake level disturbance is 200sf. We assume
