I have some additional information. Lake Glenville is also known by the names Glenville Reservoir and Thorpe Lake. The
attached wasteload allocation from 1989 shows the hand-mapped discharge point to Thorpe Lake (Glenville).
I suspect Hurricane Creek was erroneously substituted when an earlier version of the permit was written. Thanks again
for helping get this corrected.

I've been looking at maps since receiving your message. I'm unclear as to why Hurricane Creek was selected as the
receiving stream for this permit.
Hurricane Creek flows south to Hurricane Lake. The headwaters for Hurricane Creek are not close to the latitude &
longitude of the outfall.
Given the latitude & longitude of the outfall, the receiving stream should have been labeled as a UT to Lake
Glenville. I'm going to correct the permit to that effect.
The stream classification for Lake Glenville is WS-III & B Trout HQW, not greatly different from the classification for
Hurricane Creek(WS-III Trout HQW).
Thanks for pointing this out. I appreciate it.

Thank you. I think my confusion is over the lake name and assumed flow direction.
I thought the large lake to the north and east of the WWTP was called Lake Glenville and Hurricane Lake was further
south and much smaller. At least that's what I'm seeing on Google. Are you referring to the large lake as Hurricane Lake?
I also thought the discharge was flowing south or west, but looking again at terrain the UT might be going northeast
instead, directly into what I'm calling Lake Glenville. Is that correct?
Thanks,

Norton Creek curves to the left (NW) upstream of the discharge and enters Hurricane Lake further North.
I'll update the draft permit to state that the discharge is in a UT to Hurricane Lake,to eliminate any confusion.

Good morning Mr. Weaver,
I have a question about the location of the Trillium Links &Village WWTP outfall. The text of the draft permit states on
page 2 (paragraph 2)that "Discharge from said treatment works at the location specified on the attached map into an
unnamed tributary to Hurricane Creek (Hurricane Lake)..."
However, on the map it appears that the outfall is located on an unnamed tributary to Norton Creek and is 1-2 miles
north of Hurricane Creek and Hurricane Lake. Perhaps the UT to Norton Creek is also called Hurricane Creek—I wasn't
able to find a name for it—but I was hoping you could provide some insight as to where the outfall is truly located and
what stream or tributary is receiving the discharge.

Hi Charles,
This facility utilizes membrane filtration for the treatment process. The membranes frequently tear and due to COVID
supply chain issues, repairs were delayed for some time. They finally repaired the membranes in November of 2021 and
there was a dramatic drop off in the violations. Going forward, they will probably continue to have problems with the
membranes tearing and we can only hope that future repairs will be able to happen faster. I don't know if they could
buy an extra set of filters to keep on stand by,that could probably help keep them in compliance.
The attached response from Bob Barr summarizes the issue. He recommends that the owner modify the system.
Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.

Dan—what's the problem with this facility? They have 12 enforcements and 16 NOVs in the last permit cycle. Is it poor
O&M? Do they have a bad operator?
I'm starting the renewal and I need to know what's going on. Any info the ARO could share would be appreciated.

NOV-2022-LV-0090:
As outlined in your January 26, 2022 letter we exceeded a daily maximum BOD with
18.1 mg/L and 39.5 mg/L which resulted in a violation for the monthly average of 5 mg/L
with a 17.18 mg/L average. We exceeded a daily maximum Fecal with 900#/100mg,
700 #/100mg, and 6,000#/100mg which resulted in a violation for the monthly average
of 200 #/100mg with a 247.96#/100ml average.
All of these violations were result of damage or tears in the membranes in the WWTP.
Replacement membranes had been ordered for several months and delays have occurred
in delivery do to covid issues according to the manufacturer.
Summary:
The membranes were finally replaced on 11/18/21. The original order was still
outstanding but the vender substituted another clients order due to construction delays to
Trillium. We have seen a large improvement in the performance of the WWTP and new
membranes so far. We still recommend to the owner to consider a design modification
to the WWTP since these membranes are too fragile and do not hold up with the
conditions of the site.
I trust you will call if you have any further questions or concerns.
