BISER Secretary BRAXTON DAVIS Director Island Marina Enterprises LLC c/o Dennis Barbour 620 St. Joseph St Carolina Beach, NC 28428 Dear Mr. Barbour, NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality November 18th, 2021 This is with reference to the request received by Bryan Hall, Field Representative, to refine State Permit No. 15-16, which was issued to Island Marina Enterprises LLC. on January 27, 2016 and includes maintenance dredging and marina expansion located adjacent to the Carolina Beach Yacht Basin at 620 St. Joseph St, in Carolina Beach, New Hanover County. State Permit No. 15-16 was renewed February 24, 2020. State Permit No. 15-1b is due to expire on December 31, 2021. The action proposed in your submittal consists of the installation of a two boat lifts in existing slips #33 and #35 at Island Marina. The boat lifts measure approximately 12' in width by 14' in length. See attached documentation for slip locations. Slip #33 and #35, which are located on the northern riparian boundary. An Agent Authorization Form has been obtained to allow encroachment into the adjacent riparian corridor. An adjacent riparian waiver has also been obtained. Upon reviewing the information provided, the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the proposed action is consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of the permit. This Letter of Refinement authorizes the modification of State Permit No. 15-16 as described in your email and attachments dated received November 15, 2021. Please note this refinement does not alleviate the need to obtain any other local, state or federal permits.
