Site inspection was conducted on January 9, 2023 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Kevin Barnett,
Brandon Dockery, and Nick Adams were present. The following are items that need attention:
-Station 159+00 LT (Channel change) - Water is piping underneath header rock of energy dissipator. This needs to be
repaired. Also, third cross vane needs repair (fill void on Right bank).
-Station 188+00 LT - Sediment in 60" pipe needs to be removed. Recommend adding more sand bags to outlet. One
suggestion that DOT made is to dewater the pipe and push the sediment towards the outlet and remove all material
before the sand bags. A vac truck is another option. Additional sediment accumulation needs to be removed before
forecasted rain events and before live water is turned into the system.
