Just wanted to provide an update on this. I visited the site later in the afternoon last Thursday
(12/22). By the time I was there, the pump that was installed upstream of the sheet pile was pulling
enough that water was not flowing into the construction area even though the water level was
above the weir in the sheet pile. The contractor was in the middle of installing an additional pump to
pump out the construction area to a silt bag. Turbid water was still leaving the construction area due
to the sandbag dike on the outlet being overwhelmed and dislodged. I asked that they reconfigure
the sandbags on the outlet as soon as they were able to. I will be going back by today to see how
things are looking and follow back with updates.

Tom and Hannah,

I am reporting turbidity being released from our U-5710A Drydale Dr. Project. Due to the recent
rains and the amount of stormwater runoff that comes to this site, the impervious dikes have been
overwhelmed. I have asked the contractor to look at raising up the weirs in the impervious dikes
closer to the elevation of the top of bank. We don’t want to back water up upstream but it appears
there is still some storage below bank full height. We have also asked that they consider utilizing a
second pump around. Another option the contractor could consider is pumping from within the
construction zone out onto the grade and try to let it infiltrate, but we are not sure if the project is
too wet for this to be helpful. We will keep you updated on the contractor’s efforts to get this under
control. Please let me know if you have any questions or recommendations.
