RE: Request for Rescission of NCDEQ AFO Permit
Dear Mr. Ravella:
As the permittee, owner, and operator of Ha -Ho Farms in Iredell County, I am respectfully requesting
immediate rescission of the North Carolina DEQ Animal Feeding Operation (AFO) permit corresponding
to the following information:
Facility: Ha -Ho Farms
Permittee: Roy Neal Grose
- Permit #: AWC490025
The population of the dairy was reduced to under 100 cows during 2006 and will continue to remain that
way under my ownership. It is my intention to utilize the structure for irrigation of "fresh water", since
the only water entering it is surface run-off. Currently, the adjacent barn is used seasonally for beef cows
(less than 40) that are on pasture.
There is little possibility of reopening the dairy. I understand that if the dairy is restarted, I will be
required to apply for a new permit through the Animal Feeding Operations Program prior to operating.
Please send confirmation of rescission of this permit to my home address provided above. I appreciate
