Aaron,
Staff from the Asheville Regional Office 401 team visited the Peek Site Stream Enhancement project on Monday, January
26. We noticed that live stakes were recently installed at the site. Based on our observations, it appears that many of
the live stakes were driven into the streambanks at a very shallow depth (3 -4- inches), which could affect their survival
rates. See attached photographs. Please monitor this next time you guys are at the site and consider installing the
stakes deeper into the streambanks . Streambank vegetation is an important aspect of the long -term stability of the
site.
