RCW Slopes Agreement: This project will be located in a RCW circle, so a RCW Slopes agreement will need to be filed out. (See attached form and slopes map). Please see attached. 2. Mitigation: The applicant proposes to restore 0.299 acres of wetlands and 89 LF of stream by removing an old road. The original Phase 1A project did not require mitigation since it was below the .10 acre threshold. The new Phase 1B wetland impacts =0.103 acres. At a 2:1 ratio this would = 0.206 acres of required wetland mitigation. The Corps has determined that the proposed 0.299 acre onsite wetland restoration will adequately provide the required 2:1 mitigation requirement for this phase/project. The proposed 0.299 restoration work will be listed as a special condition for this permit. Agreed. The applicant hopes that the stream restoration can be used as mitigation for stream impacts that may be needed in future phases of development. 3. Work within the Flood Zone: Documentation will be required from the Brunswick County Flood Manager that the proposed 0.043 acres of work (impacts 1-2) within the flood zone is acceptable. The bridge contractor has obtained a construction permit from the Town of Leland for the bridge (attached). The building contractor will obtain all necessary permits for other construction (roads, houses, etc) in the floodplain. 4. Wetland Impact #7: Please send me a diagram of what this crossing will look like (profile & dimensions). Attached is a cross section of Wetland Impact #7. 5. Amount of trees that will be cut for NLEB situation 1 review: Looks like some areas have already been logged on this project, do you have a rough idea how many acres of remaining trees will be cut? Phases 1A and 1B are — 104 acres in size. Most of Phase 1 was cleared in the past few years and supports a young assemblage of pines. Based on an aerial review, I am estimating around 40 acres of the project area is currently forested uplands and would need to be cleared.
