NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SEWAGE

The Town of Forest City hereby reports a discharge of untreated wastewater at manhole #1523 located
immediately upstream from the Alexander lift station at 126 Sunset Drive in Forest City. The discharge
was in the amount of 1,500 gallons. The discharge was discovered on December 15, 2022. The discharge
entered Brackett Creek adjacent to the manhole. The discharge occurred due to excessive inflow and
infiltration entering the collection lines from the heavy rainfall event.
This notice is required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter 143.215.C. For additional
information, contact Reid Guffey, ORC/ Pump Maintenance Crew Leader at the Town of Forest City
