Dear Mr. Vinson:
I am writing in response to the above -mentioned violation that we received on November 29, 2022. The
overflow in this incident was due to a failure on a tapping sleeve that connects two force mains leaving
the pump station. Once we were able to determine where the failure was, we closed two valves and
isolated the break. Closing the two valves eliminated us from using our 14" force main but allowed us to
continue pumping through our 16" force main. We cleaned debris and placed lime as needed.
We have not made the necessary repairs due to availability of parts. We are waiting on a couple of
fittings and anticipate receiving them by year's end. We also have a contractor on standby so that we
can get the repair done as soon as we have all parts. We have ordered roughly $24,000 worth of
materials. This does not include materials that we will use that we already had in stock. We estimate
spending another $15,000 - $ 20,000 in contractor fees to complete the repair. I respectfully request
that the City be allowed to use funds dedicated to sewer collection rather than paying fines.
We take our responsibility to maintain compliance for our collection system very seriously. I trust that
