Westmoreland Jackson County Manager 401 Grindstaff Cove Road Sylva, NC 28779 Dear Mr. Westmoreland Michael F. Easley, Governor William G. Ross Jr., Secretary North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Coleen H. Sullins, Director Division of Water Quality RE: Public hearing for removal of Dillsboro dam, Dillsboro, NC Mr. Paul Nolan, attorney for Jackson County, has suggested that I send you a copy of the CD which contains the application from Duke Energy to remove Dillsboro dam and its associated powerhouse. As you may know, the Division will be having a public hearing on September 25 at Western Carolina University. Instead of the public having to drive to Asheville to get a copy of this lengthy application, Mr. Nolan thought it might be helpful to have a copy available in your offices for the public to review. I hope you are able to accommodate his request. I can be reached at 919-733-9646 if you have any questions.
