(See additional drawing). Viewing from the property, one access corridor will be closer to the right, near the beach area, placing approximately 40 ft of riprap. (10x40) The second access point will be closer to the left side, placing approximately 60 ft of riprap. (10x60) Total temporary impacts will be a total of 1000-1200 sqft. (See additional sketches) 2) Water Drainage Issue Viewing from the property, water runoff has created a ravine approximately 75 feet in length, 5 ft wide in some areas and a bank of 7 to 8 ft. (See Pic 1, 5) This runoff passes directly through the buffer and is currently draining into the lake at the beach area of the property. (See Pic 2, 3, 6). Some areas are pooling water along the way, until rainfall. (See Pic 4) The property owner is requesting insight and suggestions on how to manage this area within the buffer. If cost effective and approved by NCDWR, they plan to correct this issue, based on your recommendation(s), while working on the riprap project. Additional pictures provided. (See Pic 7, 8) 3) Restoration Plan Temporary: To prevent soil runoff into the lake during riprap placement, the contractor is prepared to utilize silt fence(s) if necessary. Also, the property owner will place straw and/or rye immediately after project completion to stabilize property and prepare for permanent restoration. Permanent: Property owner will restore and replant with comparable vegetation and native tree for native tree, within 2 months of job completion. They will also plant additional trees to stabilize property as well. Also, property owner will maintain and monitor all newly planted vegetation, to ensure the health for long term existence.
