What type of permit is this, how should we reference it, and is it really best to just send comments to you via email? Removal of Marmot dam on the Sandy River in Oregon began today with a blasting ceremony - if you are interested in other removals. The Cove dam on the Bear River in Idaho was similar in size to Dillsboro and was removed last fall. The site looks really good - I have photos if you are interested. They did some native plantings (along with some sterile annuals to get things established). It is a very different ecosystem and somewhat different riverbed. Dillsboro should be simple given how seedbanks and plantings take off in the Southeast. I worked at a wetland restoration site nearby for several years and found that the natural recovery pathways there are as strong as a bulldozer. state level. Thanks in advance for the information on how to be involved on the Kevin Colburn National Stewardship Director American Whitewater 1035 Van Buren St Missoula, MT 59802 Phone: 406-543-1802 Cell: 828-712-4825 Support AW! http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/aw:shop/ 1 of 1 7/25/2007 8:13 AM
