In response to your comments: 1. The crossing of the storm pipe going to the stormwater pond is aerial and we do have approval from NCDEQ for this. Okay great, including it as a description on the impacts map is helpful/sufficient. 2. Yes, the existing crossing from Road 1 will be replaced and widened. We'll add that impact to the cumulative impact. I will need to see the square footage along with the LF for the impacts described on the plans IIIjrl -11FE INV. 1.75 'I —1 RI 1 RAP, TYP. Mf210 — FM — FM ;F PM SEMEN FES INV. 2.00 W\ 3. The force main crossing will be a directional drill under the stream so it should not impact the stream or wetlands. Okay, please describe that on the impact maps as well 4. C5.1 attached has the inverts of the piping from the cul-de-sac to the pond. We're collecting the water in the ditch around the cul-de-sac that will discharge through the 2 pipes to an open ditch on the west side of the canal. Then it will enter the 2 pipes crossing the wetlands and discharge into the pond. This is sufficient information for the Corps 5. The canal crossing north of the aerial crossing is intended to be a permanent crossing. The piping will be 56 LF with an apron that is 16' long on each end of the pipe. I'll need to see the square footage along with the LF of impacts to the feature in the description on the impacts drawings. z -E 7,0 RCP ).34% pl 0I0I 1 T- I , iR. ! 1 EP 8.25 56 L ! ! Temporary and permanent impacts to streams and wetlands need to be quantified on the plan drawings. It helps when impacts are shown in color, so that it's easy to discern from a busy plan drawing (the red on the attached is a great way to do that). You would just have to receive any required local/state approvals. I noticed the culvert crossing along the southern boundary coming from Road 1 — will the existing crossing be replaced? If the culvert would be longer, then you would need to account for the additional impacts. The proposed 4" PVC Force Main south of the cul-de-sac appears to cross the stream, so we would need to know more information about if that would be aerial as well. Also, can you provide the elevations from the cul-de-sac to the detention pond? It's hard to understand how the water would flow to the pipe in the wetlands and reach the detention pond. I see the only impacts accounted for are the utility crossing in wetlands, but I see a utility pipe going through the stream and a culvert crossing/riprap beyond the cul-de-sac that would also require authorization? Are the two stormwater pipes proposed to being constructed via HDD under the stream or is this the "aerial" crossing? I'll need to know the width of the two stormwater pipes to know the length of impact and then how wide is the actual feature if this would not be construct via HDD. I need to know the culvert width and length and the riprap measurements for the road crossing beyond the cul-de-sac. Is this crossing temporary for construction or would it be permanent. The plans need to be updated accordingly showing the quantified impacts proposed. Let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely, Emily Emily B.
