The Old Fort Wastewater Treatment Plant generated 40.50 ton of dry wt. bioresiduals in the year 2001. The Town of Old Fort had a land application permit No. WQ0005282 for land application of Class A and Class B bioresiduals on a total of 91.8 acres of permitted farmland. The Town of Old Fort requested that this permit be allowed to expire on 11- 30-01. The Town has used this permit one time in the past five years. The Town has bioresidual management permit, No. WQ0011260, to process Class A bioresiduals to be sold or given away to the public. We have successfully operated this process for four years and felt we no longer need the Land Application Permit. The bioresiduals management process consist of a belt press, lime pasteurization and storage pad. We processed 40.50 tons of bioresiduals and added 56.74 tons of quick lime to achieve the desired PH and Temp. for vector attraction reduction and PFRP, for a total of "bioresiduals + lime" 97.24 t6ns. We gave 78.13 ton's to local farmers in the year 2001 and had approximately 23 tons of product left in storage at the beginning of 2002. Each recipient received a copy of a hand out that included a description of the product, restrictions, intended uses and a copy of the laboratory analysis.
