Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions for above grade models
(SA-HF-SS-300)
Installation:
1. Locate separator at desired location using the supplied lifting lugs.
2. Inlet Pipe- Attach to waste water source.
3. Outlet Pipe- Attach to discharge.
4. Oil Outlet Pipe- Attach to oil storage tank or install shut-off valves.
5. Drains- Install shut-off valves and/or pipe back to sump pit.
6. Install anchors using the supplied anchor bolt location drawing.
Operation:
1. Fill unit with clean water.
2. Introduce waste water stream at or below the separators rated flow rate per minute.
3. Rotate oil skimmer to a vertical position.
4. Oil will accumulate at the surface.
5. Clean water will pass thru the unit to the discharge pipe.
6. Solids will fall to the bottom of the inlet chamber as well as under the coalescers in the
separation chamber.
Maintenance:
1. Remove oil layer by rotating skimmer pipe open area towards oil. Remove excess oil
only to avoid removing clean water. Minimum oil level build up prior removal %" or
approximately 15 gallons. Maximum oil level build up before affecting the separation
process is 4 inches or approximately 120 gallons.
2. Check for solids build up.
A. Rotate vertical fiberglass angles upward to remove front horizontal hold down angle.
B. Remove front horizontal hold down angle.
C. Remove center bundle from the first row and check to see if there are solids in the
bottom portion of the bundle.
D. If solids are present it is time to remove the coalescers and clean.
E. Remove grating and the solids from the bottom of the separator.
F. Reinstall grating, coalescers and hold down angle.
G. Fill unit with clean water. Unit is now ready for operation.
