Hannah and Tom,
Please see the below report from Ben. A turbid released was noted from one of the basins at R-
3300B that drains to the same JS that we have been having turbidity issues at. It sounds like this was
short lived as the contractor pulled the skimmer and is pumping into water trucks to spray out on
the grade. I think the contractor had previously used this basin to pump from the turbid ponded area
adjacent to the JS that we saw last week. With the issues we are having with the basins not
effectively settling out this sediment, the contractor is going to have to continue to use the basins
for storage purposes only and pump back out on the grade. Will keep you updated on this.
Thanks,

Sean,
See email below for discharge that occurred from the skimmer of the basin nearest the US17 culvert
into the JS Stream this morning around 10:00am. I was not aware of the issue when we spoke on the
phone earlier. Conti was pumping into the basin to dewater the ditch they are cutting and the 78”
pipe near this area. The skimmer and basin are installed properly and the skimmer was pulled as
soon as we discovered the issue. It was estimated that this was occurring for less than an hour. We
took another sample of the JS down stream of the skimmer outlet at 12:45pm with a result of 19
NTU’s. For now, the contractor will be using the basins as storage until the water can be pumped
into a water truck and spread onto the grade. We will continue to monitor and provide updates. Let
us know if you need anything else from us.
Cheers,
Ben

The Contr was pumping out of Diversion Ditch for the 78” RCP-IV equalizer culvert into Skimmer
Basin #23.2. The Contr did not pull out the skimmer device and turbid water was leaving the basin
and entering the JS. Background conditions are 29.2 NTU. As of 10:00AM the JS turbidity at entry
point was 87.3 NTU. Monitoring will be continued until further notice.
