A unique element is that there will be no planned vehicle maintenance performed at this location. Truck washdown (exterior rinse) will be performed in a large washdown basin/pit located at the northeastern corner of the property. The basin will have an elevated berm around the back slope with a silt fence to reduce the risk of discharge. Truck wash -out- (drum flushing; that occurs at the end of the day (delivery day) will be performed where the trucks originate; typically, at the existing plant at 10529 Ponderosa Service Road, Wake Forest. Aggregate watering will be the primary PW source. Section 4 — Industrial Activities that drain to this outfall Outfall 001- Concrete batching operations. Truck wash -out - (drum flushing) that occurs at the end of the day (delivery day) will be performed where the trucks originate; typically, at the existing plant at 10529 Ponderosa Service Road, Wake Forest. Aggregate watering will be the primary PW source. Outfall 002- Expected to only receive stormwater. The grading of the property, perimeter ditches, and culvert locations channel stormwater to the southwestern corner of the property. Section 6 Wastewater Treatment Alternatives The waste -water treatment plant will accept the wastewater. It is not feasible to connect. a. Explanation- Although technically feasible, impractical since the process wastewater is minimal and discharge is only likely generated during a heavy storm event as it contacts aggregate materials or minimal amounts of runoff due to aggregate stockpile watering. The batch office facilities will be connected to mainline sewer system. ii) Surface or subsurface disposal is not technologically feasible. a. Not feasible due to impracticality of necessity of such a system. Financially prohibitive for a plant that is expected to be a non -discharge facility except in the event of prolonged, voluminous, storms. iii) Surface of subsurface disposal system is not feasible to implement a. Not feasible due to impracticality of necessity of such a system. Financially prohibitive for a plant that is expected to be a non -discharge facility except in the event of prolonged, voluminous, storms. Additional Documents for Stormwater Permit NOI Chandler Concrete Company Inc. Plant 611 Wake Forest iv) What is the feasibility of employing a subsurface or surface discharge as compared to a direct discharge to surface waters? a. Discharge to surface waters is the most environmentally sound alternative of all reasonable cost-effective options of the waters being considered. Section 7 Other Facility Conditions i.) This facility uses best management practices BMP or structural stormwater control measures (SCM). a. Stormwater Control Measures include but are not limited to; skimmer sediment basin, sediment trap, permanent diversion, silt fencing with outlets, channel protection, inlet protection, velocity dissipator pads, seeding, mulching, and vegetation. ii.) This facility has a stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). a. Currently being drafted and to be finalized for this operation pending approval of this permit. General operating practices will include process wastewater sampling, daily/weekly/quarterly inspections, compliance with SOP / 0&M procedures, sampling equipment and operator training. Additionally, the site is graded so that all stormwater commingled with process water, yielding process water, will flow to the northern edge of the property laminarly. PW will be treated to ensure TSS and pH are within testing thresholds. The process water sediment basin has been constructed to hold 7,722cf while the stormwater sediment basin has been constructed to hold 10,332 cf. SANDSTORM is the Ready Mix industry's original heavy-duty concrete disolver. SANDSTORM is a liquid compound specifically formulated to remove built-up concrete from equipment associated with the Ready Mix industry. SANDSTORM attacks concrete at the molecular level and returns it to mud without the use of harsh acids. SANDSTORM does not contain any Muriatic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Sulphuric Acid, or Hydrofluoric Acid. SANDSTORM's active ingredient occurs naturally and is most often found in sugar cane syrup. SANDSTORM is 100% Biodegradable, Non - Corrosive, Non -Regulated, and a Non -Skin Irritant. MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION OF SANDSTORM Manufactured solely by Power Keen Corporation, SANDSTORM has long been the standard in the industry for heavy-duty concrete removal. SANDSTORM can be delivered from one of our many distribution centers across the nation, which will save you both shipping time and shipping dollars. SANDSTORM USE SANDSTORM can be used as a heavy-duty concrete dissolver without any neutralization. SANDSTORM can be used to remove heavy build-up of concrete in twenty minutes or less. The action of SANDSTORM not only removes concrete but also removes old rust and oxides during the cleaning process. Use on problem areas such as hopper areas, back rings, chutes, and pedestals. SANDSTORM is so safe, it can be used on any surface, including glass, aluminum, chrome, rubber, plastic, or paint.
