Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application:* This site is located within a City of Raleigh sewer easement which has a sewer line running alongside a stream that feeds to House Creek. The western stream bank has eroded to a point where it is at risk of damaging the exposed nearby sanitary sewer pipe. 4b. Explain the purpose of the proposed project:* The purpose of this project is to stabilize and repair a streambank which has failed and exposed a previously buried gravity sewer pipe. The project will temporarily impact a total of approximately 600 square feet of streambank on an unnamed tributary of House Creek near 2901 Sandia Drive at 35.821594, -78.681929 decimal degrees. 4i. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: * Work will entail creating a dry work area, establishing a stable toe, placing new ductile iron pipe, constructing a stable bank using rock/geotextile, coir matting and establishing a stable segment of stream bed at the base of the bank. The site will be accessed by obtaining a landowner access agreement to the southeast of the site. The permanent disturbance will occur inside the maintained easement and will include the removal of one tree within the maintained easement. Erosion control measures will be installed prior to work. A "pump around" will be established to create a dry work area. Disturbed areas will be reseeded and mulched when work is complete. It is expected that a rubber tire loader or skid steer loader and a dump truck will be used to place the boulders, reconstruct the streambank, and stabilize the streambank. Proper Interpretation and Use of Your Migratory Bird Report The migratory bird list generated is not a list of all birds in your project area, only a subset of birds of priority concern. Please be aware this report provides the "probability of presence" of birds within the 10 km grid cell(s) that overlap your project; not your exact project footprint. A high survey effort is the key component. If the survey effort is high, then the probability of presence score can be viewed as more dependable. Data exclusions Certain wetland habitats are excluded from the National mapping program because of the limitations of aerial imagery as the primary data source used to detect wetlands. These habitats include seagrasses or submerged aquatic vegetation that are found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of estuaries and nearshore coastal waters.
