to Talk Transportation, Jobs and Coast Guard

Raleigh, N.C. - Tomorrow, Governor Pat McCrory will head to northeast North Carolina for stops to talk about

26feature%3Dyoutu.be) , jobs and the economy, and the importance of the Coast Guard to this area of the state.
“We must continue to make the investments in northeastern North Carolina that will not only connect
the region to surrounding economic hubs, but also support the mission of the Coast Guard and enhance
our nation’s military readiness,” Governor McCrory said.
One of the major highlights of Governor McCrory’s 25 year transportation vision include creating a better
connection to the Hampton Roads and Norfolk areas of Virginia which will in turn create more economic
opportunities for those in northeast North Carolina.
The governor will also tour Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, one of the largest U.S. Coast Guard Air
Stations in the nation. He will meet with Base Commanding Officer, Commander Bruce Brown for the briefing
and tour.
“As one of the area’s top employers, the Coast Guard is extremely important to Elizabeth City and I look
forward to seeing it first-hand tomorrow,” continued Governor McCrory.
The governor will spend the majority of his day in Elizabeth City before returning to Raleigh where he will host
Halloween at the Governor’s Mansion at 6:00 p.m. Full details of the stops are below.
