Subject: MUMPO Resolution
At the MUMPO meeting last night, Union County Frank Aikmus requested an item be added to the agenda to
approve a resolution in support of the Monroe Connector/Bypass. This is the resolution prepared by the Chamber
of Commerce that has already been approved by several municipalities throughout the county. After clarifying
that she is a directed vote by her board, Mayor Lynda Paxton stated she was against the last minute addition of
the agenda item because it did not allow for individuals who may have been in opposition of it to attend the
meeting. She was the only one to vote against adding the item to the agenda.
As the agenda item came up, there was very little discussion other than asking which communities have already
acted in favor of the resolution. There was a unanimous vote in support of issuing the resolution.
