4. Project Description and History
4a. Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application:*
Currently the site is maintained grassy land, to a point where the property slopes down to a Headwater Forest, which transitions into Riverine Swamp Forest and then into Coastal Marsh.
There is approximately 15' of grade change between the upland and toe of the slope of the Headwater Forest. Residential is the main land use, in the vicinity of the project. Photos have
been attached for your convenience and reference.

4h. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: *
The purpose of the project is to construct a single family dwelling, with driveway and septic system.
4i. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: *
The project entails removing woody vegetation from the proposed impact area, constructing a 75' long retaining wall, and back filling the area with clean earthen soil. An track hoe, front
end loader and dump truck will be used to complete the work. In total, 0.07-acre of Headwater Forest wetlands will be permanently impacted. Additionally, 0.003-acre of temporary wetland
impact will be necessary to install the retaining wall. This area will be returned to its natural grade and contour and allowed to revegetate naturally.

Prior to designing the project, the Applicant had the wetlands delineated. Next the Applicant position the dwelling as close to the street as possible, while
staying at least 10' away from the septic system.

Prior to commencing with land disturbing activities, silt fence will be installed on the approved limit of disturbance line. Additionally, the wetland line will
be further marked with paint or construction fencing, to ensure work does not take place outside the approved impact area.
