Dear Mr. North:
This correspondence is with reference to the request you submitted on June 10, 2022 to modify State Permit
No. 96-21 which was originally issued to Robert Hollis on July 23, 2021 for the modification of a 4- slip docking
facility at 128 Hollis Lane in Wilmington, New Hanover County. State permit No. 96-21 is due to expire on
December 31, 2024.
The action proposed in your submittal consists of the addition of fixed platform within the existing docking
facility footprint. The proposed fixed platform would extend waterward approximately 14 ft. from the end of
the permitted pier access. No additional slips would be created and the extension would be located no farther
waterward than the permitted adjacent boatlift pilings to the north (see attached drawing dated received on
June 10, 2022).
Upon review of the information provided the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the
proposed action continues to be consistent with existing State rules and regulations. I hereby submit this
Letter of Refinement authorizing the modification of State Permit #96-21, as described in your request dated
June 10, 2022. By copy of this letter we are notifying the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Division of
Water Resources of our action. Please note this refinement does not alleviate the need to obtain any other
local, state or federal permits.
