1. EXCAVATE THE SAND FILTER TO THE DESIGN DIMENSIONS,
AFTER SEDIMENT BASIN IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.
2. UNDERDRAIN SYSTEMS SHALL BE SCHEDULE 40 PVC
(PERFORATED AND NON -PERFORATED) PIPE MATERIAL.
3. GRAVEL COVER OVER THE UNDERDRAIN SHALL BE AT LEAST 6"
IN DEPTH.
4. GRAVEL BED MATERIALS (STONE) SIZE SHALL NOT BE GREATER

THE INFORMATION BELOW SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTOR AS
REQUIRED IN THE CONTINUED ONE YEAR MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE OWNER.
MAINTENANCE INSPECTION REPORTS
AS INDICATED IN THE POST -CONSTRUCTION STORM WATER ORDINANCE, ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
INSPECTION REPORTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE STORM WATER ADMINISTRATOR. THE FIRST
REPORT SHALL BE SUBMITTED ONE YEAR FOLLOWING THE FINAL APPROVAL DATE OF THE BMP PER
THIS CONTRACT. SUBSEQUENT REPORTS WILL THEN BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER EACH
YEAR THEREAFTER ON OR BEFORE THE APPROVAL ANNIVERSARY DATE. ALL MAINTENANCE
ACTIVITIES AND INSPECTION REPORTS SHALL BE DOCUMENTED USING THE FORMS CONTAINED IN
THE ADMINISTRATIVE MANUAL. ANNUAL MAINTENANCE INSPECTION REPORTS SHALL BE SEALED BY
A REGISTERED NORTH CAROLINA PROFESSIONAL
ENGINEER OR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. THESE INSPECTIONS SHALL BE DISCONTINUED ONLY IF THE
BMPS ARE ACCEPTED FOR MAINTENANCE BY
THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION.

THE BMP LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE VEGETATION WITHIN THE SAND FILTER BASIN
UNTIL THE PROJECT IS ACCEPTED BY THE OWNER AND THEN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM THAT
DATE. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE PLANTINGS ARE ADEQUATELY WATERED AND PROVIDE MEANS OF
WATERING WHEN NECESSARY TO PROMOTE GROWTH. CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO MAINTAIN INLET AND
OUTLETS OF THE BASIN TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE WORKING PROPERLY AND WATER LEVELS ARE
MAINTAINED. CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO RE -PLANT ANY AREAS THAT DID NOT ESTABLISH ADEQUATELY.
VEGETATION INCLUDES SOD AREAS, WETLAND PLANTS, AND WETLAND SEEDED AREAS.
SAND FILTER NOTES;
