HomeMy WebLinkAboutSWA000173_Construction Sequence_20221121�� MCADAMS DKE22091 > CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE WOLFSPEED TEMPORARY SUBSTATION PROJECT CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE SITE Located off of J C Teague Rd Extension (S.R. 2475), just northwest of its intersection with U.S. Highway 64, the project area is located within a +/- 863.22-acre parcel currently owned by Tims Farm & Forestry, LLC (per Chatham County GIS), which is further described by Chatham County Parcel Identification Number (PIN) 12580. The site is located within the planning jurisdiction of the Town of Siler City, inside of the Upper Deep River watershed with runoff from the site draining into Upper Brush Creek. The site is currently zoned Heavy -Industrial (H-1). The temporary substation site is currently undeveloped and is bound to the north by the existing Asheboro — Siler City 230kV transmission line, the east by undeveloped area within overall +/- 863.22 acre tract, the south by undeveloped area within overall +/- 863.22 acre tract, and on the west J C Teague Rd Extension (S.R. 2475). Access to the site will be off J C Teague Rd Extension (S.R. 2475). PROJECT DESCRIPTION At this time, Duke Energy Progress, LLC is moving forward with the design and construction of a new temporary substation to support the initial development of the Wolfspeed project until such time a permanent substation has been constructed to support the overall Wolfspeed development. The projected timeline of the temporary substation is as follows: • Start of temporary substation construction = 12/12/2022 • Completion of temporary substation construction = June 2023 • Completion of the permanent Wolfspeed substation (located within a separate stormwater permit boundary and will be part of the development of the overall Wolfspeed project) = March 2024 • Completion of removal of the temporary substation = December 2024 creating experiences through experience 621 Hillsborough Street, Suite 500, Raleigh, NC 27603 / 919. 361. 5000
