In response to your letter dated May 29, 2007 regarding the subject application in
which you requested additional information, we provided a letter back to you dated June 17,
2007 where we indicated we were in the process of obtaining the additional information and
hoped to have that forwarded to you by July 10, 2007. Some of the information requested
required review and approval from NCDOT on the specifics of the culvert extension.
We recently received comments back from NCDOT regarding our design and we are
now in a position to provide the requested information to you. As such, we are forwarding to
you:
1. Five (5) copies of the plan sheet showing all stream impacts related to the
culvert extension.
2. Five (5) copies of the cross section and related plans of the culvert extension
identifying the invert as being buried about one foot below the natural
streambed for aquatic life passage.
3. Five (5) sets of plans provided by Wade Trim describing the stormwater
management plan for the proposed development. Please note that Mattern &
Craig has been retained by the developer to provide construction plans and
documents for the culvert extension and roadway widening along the
NCDOT-maintained routes only. We are not involved with the on-site
development of the Waynesville Town Center project as Wade Trim is
serving as the developer's engineer for all on-site engineering.

TRANSVERSE CONSTRUCTION JOINTS SHALL BE USED IN THE CULVERT BARRELS SPACED TO UMR THE CONCRETE PLACEMENTS TO
