Please keep in mind that changing one number may change other numbers and require the calculations, supplements, and other supporting documentation to be updated. Verify all numbers are correct to ensure consistency in the application documents. Please note that this request for additional information is in response to a preliminary review. The requested information should be received in this Office prior to July 27, 2015, or the application will be returned as incomplete. The return of a project will necessitate resubmittal of all required items, including the application fee. GSP CONSULTING, PLLC. 6626 Gordon Road, Unit C Wilmington, North Carolina 28411 (910) 442-7870 cz , APR 2 9 201.5 STORMWATER NARRATIVE WYNDWATER - PHASE 2 PENDER COUNTY, NC SITE DESCRIPTION This+/- 28.35 acre site is located off Sloop Point Loop Road (S.R. 1563) (PIN 4214-12-82 51- 0000) in Pender County, North Carolina. This phase of the project will drain to a proposed wet detention basin that will discharge to a ditch that runs along the northern property line of the site. This phase of the project will consist of the construction of 56 single family lots and related site appurtenances. The proposed drainage area for this project is 22.65 acres and the total amount of impervious area draining to the wet detention basin is 33.6%. The proposed disturbed area for this phase of the development is approximately 28.35 acres. There are no wetlands located within the limits of this phase of the project which have been field verified by the USACOE. The site will be developed by Signature Top Sail NC, Ltd. c/o Michael H. Pollak — Manager. Water is available to the site via a main owned by Pender County Utilities that was constructed with Phase I of this development and sewer will be accomplished by drainfields. SOILS The soils for this project consist of Autryville series soils (Hydrologic Soil Group A), Baymeade Series Soils (Hydrologic Soil Group A) and Foreston Series Soils (Hydrologic Soil Group C). The Autryville series are well drained soils near drainageways on convex divides on uplands. The Baymeasde series consist of well drained soils on low ridges and convex divides on the uplands near the major drainageways. The Foreston series consists of moderately well drained soils on slightly convex interstream divides near shallow drainageways. STORM DRAINAGE DESIGN The primary stormwater measures for this phase of the project will be a wet detention basin. The stormwater will be conveyed via overland sheet flow and a closed conduit system to the proposed wet detention basin that will be designed to treat the first 1.5" of rainfall and to control the peak runoff from the 10-year storm event. The site drains to an unnamed tributary of Mullet Run (classification SA, HQW) but is greater than %: mile as verified by a Water Classification Request. 10-Year Pre Development Runoff = 53.41 cfs 10-Year Post Development Runoff = 7.58 cfs Drainage Area Drainage Area Drainage Area Impervious Area Calculation Lots (54 Lots @ 4,500 SF/Lot) Sidewalk Pavement Total Total % Impervious Volume/Storage Calculation WET DETENTION BASIN 986,812 sf 22.65 ac 243,000 sf 7,348 81,389 331,737 sf 7.62 ac 33.6% Design Storm (P) Schueler Method Runoff Coeff (RV) Required Volume (Vreq) 1.5 in 0.35 RV = %IMP'0.009+0.05 43,488 cf Vreq = (P/12)'F;V'DA CONTOUR CONTOUR AREA INCR VOL ACCUM VOL [sq ft] [cu ft] [cu ft] 15.0 12593 0 0 16.0 14363 13,478 13,478 17.0 16196 15,280 28,758 18.0 18090 17,143 45,901 19.0 20044 19,067 64,968 20.0 22058 21,051 86,019 20.5 25543 11,900 97,919 FOREBAY CONTOUR INCR ACCUM CONTOUR AREA VOL VOL [sq ft] [cu ft] [cu ft] 16.0 3561 0 0 17.0 4473 4,017 4,017 18.0 5444 4,959 8,976 19.0 6475 5,960 14,935 20.0 7564 7,020 21,955 20.5 8130 3,924 25,878 Apami pool 33,673 Ashelf bottom 29,622 VOLUME Ape" pool Ashetl bottom Apond bottom Apond bottom 12,593 Total 123,797 33,673 29,622 12,593 Depth 5.0 PROVIDED FOR FOREBAY 20.9% daverage 4.0327 1.5" STORAGE CONTOUR INCR ACCUM CONTOUR AREA VOL VOL [sq ft] [cu ft] [cu ft] 20.5 33673 0 0 21.0 37894 17,892 17,892 21.8 41540 31,774 49,665 POND RELEASE TIME FOR CONTROL PIPE: POND 2 POND RELEASE TIME FOR CONTROL PIPE: STORAGE ORIFICE STORAGE OUTFLOW RELEASE ELEVATION ELEVATION VOLUME RATE TIME (FT) (FT) (CF) (CFS) (HOURS) 21.80 20.50 49,665 0.277 49.9 TOTAL HOURS 49.9 DAYS 2.1 CONTROL PIPE: 4 INCH ORIFICE HOLE USED ORIFICE EQUATION TO DETERMINE OUTFLOW RATE Q = Cd*A *(2gh)^ 1 /2 1-1 Hydrograph Summary Report Hydraflow Hydrographs by Inlelisolve v9.1 Hyd. GSP Consulting, PLLC 6626 Gordon Road Wilmington, North Carolina 28411 Reference: Report of Seasonal High Water Table Estimation The Oaks at Sloop Point PH 2 Sloop Point, Pender County, North Carolina ECS Project No. 22.20203 Dear Mr. Pape: ECS Carolinas, LLP (ECS) recently conducted an estimation of the Seasonal High Water Table (SHWT) for the proposed stormwater best management practice (BMP) areas at the Oaks at Sloop Point PH 2 in Sloop Point, Pender County, North Carolina. This letter, with attachments, is the report of our estimation. Field Testing On February 5, 2014, ECS conducted an exploration of the subsurface soil and SHWT conditions at one requested location shown on the attached Boring Location Plan (Figure 1). The purpose of this exploration was to estimate the SHWT of the in place soils for the design of for the proposed stormwater BMP area. ECS met with Mr. Garry Pape on site in order to locate the boring. ECS explored the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions by advancing one hand auger boring into the existing ground surface at the requested boring location. ECS visually classified the subsurface soils and obtained representative samples of each soil type encountered. ECS recorded the SHWT and groundwater level observed at the time of the hand auger boring. The attached SHWT sheet provides a summary of the subsurface conditions encountered at the hand auger boring location. The groundwater level and the SHWT were estimated at the boring location below the existing grade elevation. Below is a summary of each boring location. ocatiom I, _ SWWT' GrourtZivvat3r B-1 40 inches 65 inches The SHWT may vary within the proposed site due to changes in subsurface conditions and elevation.
