no soil wetness conditions were observed within 8 feet of boring
surface or above elevation of 420 ft. See attached soil profile

MAINTENANCE NOTES:
1. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WET DETENTION BASIN IS ESTABLISHED,
THE PLANTS ON THE VEGETATED SHELF AND PERIMETER OF THE
BASIN SHOULD BE WATERED TWICE WEEKLY IF NEEDED, UNTIL
PLANTS BECOME ESTABLISHED (COMMONLY SIX WEEKS).
2. NO PORTION OF THE WET DETENTION POND SHOULD BE FERTILIZED
AFTER THE FIRST INITIAL FERTILIZATION THAT IS REQUIRED TO
ESTABLISH THE PLANTS ON THE VEGETATED SHELF.
3. STABLE GROUND COVER SHOULD BE MAINTAINED IN THE DRAINAGE
AREA TO REDUCE THE SEDIMENT LOAD TO THE WET DETENTION
BASIN.
4. IF THE BASIN MUST BE DRAINED FOR AN EMERGENCY OR TO
PERFORM MAINTENANCE, THE FLUSHING OF SEDIMENT SHOULD BE
MINIMIZED.
PLANTING NOTES:
1. DO NOT PLANT WEEPING LOVE GRASS, TREES OR WOODY
SHRUBS ON THE VEGETATIVE SIDE SLOPES
2. DO NOT PLANT ANY TREES WITHIN 10 FEET OF INLET OR
OUTLET PIPES
3. TREES WITH WATER SEEKING ROOTS SUCH AS WEEPING
WILLOWS AND POPLARS SHOULD BE AVOIDED WITHIN 50 FEET
OF PIPES OR MANMADE STRUCTURES.
4. EVERGREEN TREES WHICH PRODUCE RELATIVELY LITTLE
LEAF -FALL ARE PREFERRED IN AREAS DRAINING TO DETENION
AREAS.
5. TREES SHOULD BE SET BACK SO THAT BRANCHES DO NOT
EXTEND OVER THE PERMANENT POOL.
6. ALL POND SLOPES INCLUDED THE DAM STRUCTURE AND
FRONT/BACK SIDE SLOPES SHALL BE VEGETATED WITH A
NON -CLUMPING TURF GRASS SUCH AS CENTIPEDE OR
BERMUDA OR TALL FESCUE.
7. MINIMUM 50 PLANTS PER 200SF OF VEGETATED SHELF. 3232
SF OF VEGETATED SHELF REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 810
PLANTS TO BE PLANTED ON THE AQUATIC SHELF. MINIMUM OF
3 DIVERSE SPECIES OF HERBACEOUS PLANTS. THE
FOLLOWING SPECIES SHALL BE USED IN EQUAL QUANTITIES:
7.1. ASCLEPIAS INCARNATA (SWAMP MILKWEED)
7.2. EUPATORIADELPHUS FISTULOSUS (JOE PYE WEED)
7.3. HIBISCUS COCCINEUS (SCARLET ROSE MALLOW)
8. SPACING SHOULD BE APPROXIMATELY 24" TO 36" ON
CENTERS; YIELDING COMPLETE COVERAGE IN 1-2 YEARS
9. ON THE TOPS OF THE BERMS AND ON THE EXTERIOR SLOPES
OF CONTAINMENT BERMS, MAINTAIN TURF GRASS IN ACCESS
AREAS; CENTIPEDE IS RECOMMENDED
10. WILDFLOWERS, NATIVE GRASSES AND GROUND COVERS
SHOULD BE SELECTED TO MINIMIZE MOWING
NOTES:
1. CONTRACTOR TO OVER EXCAVATE POND 20" TO PROVIDE 12" OF
IMPERMEABLE CLAY LINER WITH AN INFILTRATION RATE OF LESS
THAN 0.01 INCHES PER HOUR. CLAY LINER SHALL EXTEND FROM THE
BOTTOM OF THE POND UP TO THE 430 ELEVATION
2, A LICENSED SOIL SCIENTIST MUST CERTIFY THAT THE CLAY LINER IS
