STORMWATER MANUAL NARRATIVE
The 11.06 acres property is mostly cutover with some open areas. The purpose of this project
is to construct two new multifamily apartment buildings. This project requires stormwater runoff
peak flow management and first flush treatment. The project will result in 1.44 acres of built
upon area and 0.28 acres of impervious area for the water quality pond permanent pool. The
project will disturb 6.7 acres.
This project is located in the Tar -Pamlico River Basin and the receiving stream is Brandy
Creek Index number 28-29-3-(3), Classification B;NSW
This project will utilize a water quality pond that discharges to an existing rip -rap armored
channel. The water quality pond was designed according to the current NC BMP
Manual.
The water quality pond will treat the first 1.0" flush per NCDEQ requirements and will
manage the peak flow. The pond will detain and route the post -development peak
flows from the 1 year, 10 year, and 100 year storms to less than the pre -development
flows.
