Hello Andrea,
Attached find the revised Brown plant list, similar to the one for Sugar. I didn't catch this one and edit before it went out,
BUT did catch it on a recent submittal (Wes Brewer).
Definitive species, as listed in the "typical channel re -vegetation plan view detail":
Livestake species: Silky dogwood, 9-bark, Silky willow, elderberry
Bare root species: Red maple, sugar maple, service berry, tag alder, yellow birch, black birch, silky dogwood,
Tulip poplar, Apple, 9-bark, Black cherry, basswood, and American holly. (Not riverbirch &
Question - is the detail enough information as shown in attachment? It has species, density, and buffer width.
Hellbenders - we would welcome yall to come survey. We anticipate start up of construction in the new year, early to
mid January. Let me know when you can round up the biologists and I'll be glad to meet you onsite.
Thanks
Adam

Subject: Brown WNCSI Cove Creek project - questions
Hi Adam and Alan -
Am reviewing the Brown project now. Can you let me know what the width of the planted
buffer will be? Also- can you provide a more definitive list of shrubs/trees to be
planted? See Adam's response for the Sugar Mountain # 1 site below - this is in line with
what I'd like to see. (However - Brushy Fork used to provide a table with species to plant -
I found that more useful ... is there any way to go back to that habit?)
Also - looks like you'll be removing a number of old in -stream structures and doing quite a
bit of in -channel work. This is about 1 mile downstream of a cluster of hellbender records,
and it's very likely that we'd like to get in there to do some surveys and possible critter
movement before construction. You won't have a trout moratorium to worry about. Do you
have an idea as to when you'd like to construct this?
Thank you,
Andrea

Yes, I saw that - thanks. I'd like to see a more definitive list of species and a planted buffer
width - I'll always come back with those pesky questions. Happy Friday to you, too.

My pleasure. Our standard language for all of our sites is 400 stems per acre. You should see this in the PCN.

Thanks Adam for the revision. Usually, you include a definitive list of woodies. In this, you
say, `including, but not limited to .... etc.' So it's hard for me to know what will actually be
planted. I do know you all tend to plant a nice rich mix of plants. But I like to know what
will be (or at least one is planned to be) planted. The `not limited to' and `etc.' leaves
uncertainty here. Is there a way to better define this list?
Thanks,
Andrea
