The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District has authorized North Carolina
Department of Transportation to install 240 linear feet of rock riprap and to place fill in
wetlands to construct a gravel turn around adjacent to the Cashie River southeast of Windsor
in Bertie County, North Carolina. The proposed activity would fill 1920 square feet of open
water and 430 square feet of nontidal wetlands..

This authorization was issued via Programatic General Permit 198000291 CAMA (NC Coastal Area
Management Act). All terms and conditions of this permit apply. Please add the following
conditions:

1) In order to protect anadromous fishery resources, no in water work may occur between
February 15 and June 30 of any year without written approval from USACE.

2) All work authorized by this permit must be performed in strict compliance with the
attached plans, which are a part of this permit. Any modification to these plans must be
approved by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) prior to implementation.

Thanks for the update in your e-mail on 12/19 Garcy. Please let Greg and me know when you
have had a chance to make a site visit and/or DWR issues a 401 Certification on this one.

Tracey, I know you must be swamped catching up after the holidays, but when you get a chance
would you please provide DCM with an update on the USACE process for this project?

After reviewing the plans, I feel I need to make a site visit before making a determination
on this one. DWR central office has not received an application for this yet, so it has not
been issued a project number. It will be after Christmas before I will have a chance to get
out there. Sorry for the delay in getting comments to you.

Hello,

DCM is processing a CAMA major permit application from NCDOT for 240 linear feet of
shoreline/shoulder stabilization along SR 1500 (San Souci Road) and at the San Souci Ferry
Ramp in Bertie County. A copy of the CAMA major application was sent to your agency for
review and comment on 11/21/14. If you did not receive a copy of the application for review,
please let me know and I will send you another copy. Comments from your agency on the
application were requested by 12/12/14.

Your agency's comments have not yet been received at the DCM-Raleigh Office. Therefore, we
would appreciate it if you would submit your comments as soon as possible. If DCM does not
hear back from your agency within the next few days, we will likely be moving forward with a
final permit decision.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
