Dear Mr. Tuvia:
Two Rivers Utilities received the above referenced Notice of Violation regarding exceedance of the Long Creek WWTP effluent
weekly BOD limit for the week of July 9, 2022.
Two Rivers Utilities takes this violation very seriously and is working diligently to determine the cause of the elevated BOD
results so that appropriate preventative actions can be implemented going forward. As a part of this investigation, Two River
Utilities has contracted with HDR Engineering to investigate the periodic episodes where Long Creek WWTP has experienced
elevated levels of BOD at the effluent. Engineers with the firm are attempting to identify potential sources of the elevated BOD
and make suggestions for additional testing or process changes to make going forward.
This investigation by HDR Engineering into Long Creek WWTP's effluent BOD includes:
• Onsite visit and inspection of treatment processes and equipment
• Review of treatment plant influent and process data
• Evaluation of industrial dischargers including chemicals used in their processes
• Suggestions on additional analyses to perform or areas to investigate
• A technical memorandum summarizing findings and recommendations
