Town owned SCM/Outfall Operation and Maintenance Policy
Trained Town personal will regularly inspect and maintain all
inlet grates to insure they are free and clear of leaves, twigs and
debris. They will also inspect discharge/ outfall location to insure
that rock aprons and depressed detention areas and stormwater
storage areas are functioning properly. They will adjust as
necessary any areas to prevent any soil erosion. They will remove
or schedule for removal any silt buildup. They will inspect any
areas that have been seeded or mulched or planted in order to
prevent any soil erosion and make any adjustments necessary.
This shall be done on an annual basis in which the assigned personal will
document the date and their findings after which they will sign off that the
inspections were completed. If any repairs are to be made a work order will
be generated from this report and completion of the repair will be noted in
this manual. The Director of Public Works shall once a year review this policy
and the material within and sign off on approval of the contents or make
adjustments if needed.
