Town Illicit Discharge plan and Policy
Trained Public Works employees will regularly( in day to day
duties) check all inlets and outfalls in the area of their assigned
work to insure they are free and clear of dry weather flow. Trained
PW staff will also ride a route in town seventy two hours after a
rain event to check for Illicit Discharge any discharge will be
noted and investigated immediately and the proper individuals
will be notified for repairs to be made. Staff will follow up on the
site the next business day on repairs and will note weather the
Illicit discharge has been stopped. All information will be
recorded on attached documents ( the date and time of discovery,
who was notified, how it was stopped, and date and time it was
stopped). The Public works Director shall once a year review this
document to ensure that the documentation is correct and shall
sign off on it as it meets approval.
