Sprinkle Jr. WTF on 11/14/2022. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0085154. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled ''Compliance Inspection Report". There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required. The inspection was performed in conjunction with a visit to provide technical assistance on eDMRs. Randall Wilson (ORC & Superintendent) was present and assisted with the inspection. The facility appeared well operated at the time of the inspection, and in compliance with Permit NC0085154. The following additional items were noted at the time of the inspection: The filter trains are backwashed approximately every 60 hours in the winter and approximately every 100 hours in the summer. Weaverville currently employs Bionomics annually to manage solids. Bionomics was last onsite for approximately 2 weeks in Augus 2022. The company set up a belt press system onsite and hauled a daily load to the County landfill. Records are well organized. ETS is the laboratory used by Weaverville, ETS contracts Metals work To Envirocon. The facility has a Compliance Schedule (Compliance Action Plan CAP) for Copper (Cu). CAP sampling commenced 1/2/2022. The facility is considering relocating their discharge line farther down the UT to Ivy River due to perceived neighbor concerns about erosion. Backwash water is stored in the basin and allowed to settle, then the supernate is discharged as appropriate. This component appeared compliant at the time of the inspection.
