Sean, The Corps is considering this action to be an in-field adjustment of the construction methodology that was originally permitted under the 291 process (ref: SAW-2020-00406). You may consider this transmission as official approval of the adjustments as follows: (1) A temporary construction trestle design using stacked 4’ x 20’ logging mats as the supporting trestle bents that are spaced at approximately 25-foot intervals within the same footprint as the original temporary construction trestle. (2) Elimination of approximately 70 steel piles at the bent locations required for construction of the original temporary construction trestle. (3) The phased construction of the sills and placement of marine sand fill as described in the plans and narrative dated 12 October 2022. If any of these proposed plans change or need further modification, please contact the Corps as soon as possible.
