Last summer I met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the above referenced project.
This project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 00 -147. The features represented on
the Johnston County Soils and the Edmondson USGS Quad maps were evaluated to determine their
subjectivity to the Neuse Buffer Rule.
As a result, it was determined that the farm pond represented on only the USGS map does not exist on the
ground and the feature shown emanating from the pond does not become subject to riparian protection until
off property. Therefore, this feature is not subject to Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code
T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233) off property.
The plat map received by this Office on May 19, 2000 indicates the required buffer beginning off site. This
letter only addresses the applicability of the Neuse Buffer Rules. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Please find enclosed two sets of Erosion and Sedimentation Control calculations, two sets of Erosion
Control Plana, USGS map, a financial obligation form and a check in the amount of $90.00 (total disturbed
area is approx. 3.25 acres).
In addition, the USGS map shows a drainage feature inside this property. 1 met with Steve Mitchell with
DWQ last summer and determined that on the Bound this drainage feature becomes subject to the Neuse
Buffer rules downstream from this property. Therefore, there are no riparian buffers in this section of
Chadbourne. Please contact Steve Mitchell if you have any concerns related to the Neuse Buffer Rules.
