Request for correction of stormwater outfalls

This letter is being sent on behalf of SteelFab, Inc. to request for a correction in the
designated stormwater outfalls at their facility. When the facility initially applied for
coverage under the NPDES General Permit they identified certain points as "outfalls"
that actually flow into sand filters located on the site. The attached map shows Outfalls
5 and 6 which both flow into the sand filter labeled 7. Our opinion is that the actual
outfall should be the weir where the stormwater discharge leaves the sand filter. On
Additionally, outfalls identified as number 11 and number 12 do not receive any
discharge associated with industrial activity on the site. These two outfalls are located
in the railroad right-of-way and only receive runoff from the railroad track and the
adjacent street, not in control of SteelFab, Inc. SteelFab, Inc. is respectfully requesting
that these outfalls be removed from the list of outfalls that they are required to sample.
This request would reduce the number of outfalls that SteelFab is required to sample on
a quarterly basis from a total of 14 outfalls to 10 outfalls. Please feel free to contact
