Dear Mr. Stokes:
On May 8, 2000, I met with you on site to conduct a site visit. It was determined that the Flag Marsh
Property has a two features that are subject to the Tar Pamlico River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code
T15A:02B.0259.
. These features are indicated as stream bisecting the subject property but are ditches until they enter into the
forested area. As ditches,they are not subject to buffer protection. Please be reminded that new stormwater
must be discharged as sheet flow at non-erosive velocities through the buffer. This letter addresses only
the applicability of the Tar Pamlico Buffer Rules. For information relevant to wetland impact,please contact
Mr.John Dorney at 733-1786. Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this Office can be of any
