On May 1, 2000, I met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the above
referenced project. This project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 00 -169.
At your request, an evaluation was performed to determine if the features indicated on the Durham
County Soils and Durham East USGS maps would require compliance with the Neuse River Basin:
Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian
Areas, Administrative Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233).
As a result, it was determined that there are two unnamed tributaries to Little Lick Creek that are at
least intermittent streams and therefore subject to the Neuse Buffer Rules. These features and the
required 50 foot buffer are delineated on the plat map received by this Office on June 20, 2000. This
letter addresses only the issue of riparian buffers. Please note, depending on the linear feet or
acreage involved in this project, there may be jurisdictional wetlands or waters that may require
concurrence with the Corps of Engineers. For information relevant to 401 and/or wetland issues,
please call 733 -1786.
