Dear Permittee:
On November 2, 2022, Dorothy M Robson of the Raleigh Regional Office reviewed the 2021 Annual Land
Application Report for permit WQ0035595. The report was received February 28, 2022. The report was
prepared by Soil Plus.
According to the 2021 Land Application report Annual report, a total of 2,644.95 dry tons of biosolids was
processed in 2021 and land applied to 54 fields totaling 645.63 acres. Granville Farms collected from 45
sources located within Bertie, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Greene, Hertford, Johnston, Martin,
Nash, Orange, Pitt, Wake, Washington, Wayne, and Wilson counties. The biosolids were land applied to
fields located in Bertie, Edgecombe, Martin, and Wilson counties. The residual biosolids meet the
requirements for class B residuals
The facility also collected samples of the residual biosolids from each facility source and submitted to a
laboratory to analyze for non -hazardous constituents, metals, nutrients, pathogen and vector attraction
reductions for each facility, as stipulated in the updated December 3, 2020 permit. The laboratories used
depended on the source facility, location and constituent sampled. The following labs were used: Meritech,
ENCO, Environment 1 Incorporated, Pace Analytical, City of Raleigh Neuse River WW Lab, Waypoint, and
PAR Laboratories, inc. The soil samples were submitted to Waypoint for soil tests.
There were no significant issues or findings noted in the report review and therefore, a response to this
