Manuel, This letter is in response to the NOV & Intent for Civil Penalty issues on September 20, 2022, for exceeding the following parameters for July 2022: • Nitrogen, Ammonia Total (as N) Weekly Limit value = 3 Reported value = 4.03 • BOD, 5-Day Weekly Limit value = 7.5 Reported value = 11.7 • Nitrogen, Ammonia Total (as N) Weekly Limit value = 3 Reported value = 8.14 • BOD, 5-Day Monthly Limit value = 5 Reported value = 5.74 • Cadmium Monthly Limit value = 2.1 Reported value = 3 • Nitrogen, Ammonia Total (as N) Monthly Limit value = 1 Reported value = 3.07 It is believed that these parameters were exceeded due to the contribution of high BOD and CL2 loading from Mountaire Farms and the Iron from the WTP. With the elevations, the WWTP treatment process is hindered in being able to meet permit limits. We continue to work with Mountaire Farms and the WTP on these concerns and options for them to minimize the load on the WWTP. We are going through the process of placing the WTP on a Pretreatment Permit. Also, we continue to monitor, communicate, and issue NOV and civil penalties regarding Mountaire Farms. We are still working with Synagro in keeping residuals at both the WWTP and WTP to a minimum.
