On behalf of Lot 1 Development, we are submitting a response to your comments emailed
7/20/2022. Please find your comments listed below with our response provided in bold.
Application/FTSE:
1. In Section VIII (4) you checked that the project requires 401/404 certifications.
Please confirm that these certifications are not required for this project.
• These are not required for this project
Plans:
1. Profile STA 10+35 to 10+55 on Sheet C-5.0 specifies ductile iron pipe to be
installed for the section of 3-inch force main under the two 60-inch RCP drainage
pipes. It is recommended that you specify some other pipe material, such as
C900, due to the limited availability of ductile iron pipe.
• Noted,we will work with contractor/CFPUA for acceptable alternative if
needed, contractor has ordered the DIP per my understanding
2. Profile STA 10+50 on Sheet C-5.1 is unclear if 18-inches of separation is
achieved between the 3-inch sewer line and the 15-inch RCP drainage line.
Please add a note or leader that positively identifies that the minimum 18-inches
of separation is achieved per 15A NCAC 02T .0305 (f).
• A note added to Sheet C-5.1 but the crossing is shown on C-5.0 having the
minimum of 18-inches of cover
Calculations:
1. It appears that the statistically likely number of pumps on was not used in the
flow calculations. The rational method cannot be used in lieu of the statistically
likely number of pumps on. Please revise the calculations to account for the

undersized, you must also revise the application and plans to account for the
changes per 15A NCAC 02T .0305 (j)(1).

2. Each simplex grinder pump shows a discharge flow of 30 gpm and a head of
26.61 ft which appears to be outside of the pump curve. Please modify the
calculations such that a possible flow and pump head can be achieved per 15A
NCAC 02T .0305 (b)(2).
